Tom Flynn opened his first shop in 1880 in Silver Cliff, Colorado. The mining in this boom town had slowed to a point where Tom needed to make a change.
Before Tom was ready to leave, the bank at Silver Cliff closed it's doors with all the town's money. Tom went looking for the bank president and found him on the verge of sneaking out of town. With a gun in his ribs, the bank president was glad to give Tom back his savings.
In 1889, he opened a shop in Pueblo, Colorado. The T. Flynn Saddlery made saddles for many of the wild west shows. Tom was a co-creator of the the "Pueblo" style saddle. His shop was destroyed by a flood in 1921. He died six months later.
Tom's son Frank struggled with the business until it closed in 1935. Saddles were Stamped "T. FLYNN MAKER PUEBLO, COLO."
